KWARA NACTAL ORGANIZED STAKEHOLDERS’ CONSULTATIVE MEETING TO COMBATING HUMAN TRAFFICKING.
The meeting which had in attendance the Honourable Commissioner of Women Affairs and Social Development Mrs. Aremu Abosede Felicia, the Permanent Secretary Alhaja Ibrahim Afusat Nike, representatives of the Nigeria Police Force, Nigeria Immigration Service, National Human Rights Commission, National Orientation Agency and Nigerian Union of Journalists among others discussed extensively the growing concern of human trafficking in the state.
Stakeholders called for effective interagency collaboration and the need to set up a state steering committee on Anti-Human Trafficking by the state government. The Honourable Commissioner while addressing the meeting said the state government is ever ready to work with other stakeholders in clamping down on human traffickers.
The NACTAL Coordinator, Mr. Olufemi Oyedeji presented the APPRAISAL Project designed by Kwara NACTAL to combating human trafficking in Kwara State which will run from 2021 to 2025.
